Phoebus Moon

O Phoebus Moon, you fill our soulful nights
With murmurs of the years remembered by.
The glowing, growing circles tearful of
The smiles and joys and touch caressed, beloved.

No greater truth than time transfixes life.
Persists beyond resistance of good bye.
Resistance of the longings of the heart.
Beyond the wish upon the farthest star.

The well of memories is water clear.
The days and eves united loving care.
The children with their hopes within their eyes.
The seasons and the balance of the tides.

Tomorrow comes another day to hold.
The hours to keep the cherished space of home.
The plans. The dreams. The in-betweens. The faith.
The what-they-would-have-wanted, and the aches.

The price of moving through the lonely thought
Is prizing tears of yet another dawn.
Is risking yet another broken heart.
Another Phoebus Moon. Another scar.
